Development Aid – (M.Sc.)

This master (70 ECTS) is the result of an agreement between Valencia University and Jaume I University. It meets the need for higher education with official recognition in the field of development cooperation, a need that was identified by both universities in the postgraduate programmes of the last seven academic years.

We are convinced that educational processes and development awareness are key to the emergence of future citizens that will be able to reflect, build and take to the practice their knowledge at the service of a fairer solidarity-based society.

The objectives of the master are:

* To raise the level of knowledge about the political, social, economic and cultural factors that explain and cause poverty, inequality and problems in developing countries, from a global perspective.
* To contribute criteria for the analysis of the political, social, economic and cultural reality that makes up the context of the approaches and topics of the new culture of cooperation fostered by international organisations and conventions.
* To delve into operational strategies in respect of the quality and effectiveness of development cooperation, from a critical perspective.
* To train students for them to identify needs, design projects, implement programmes and evaluate measures.

The following specialities are offered:

* Co-development and migration (Valencia University)
* Local development comprehensive planning (Valencia University - Universitat de Jaume I)
* International aid (Universitat de Jaume I)

The maximum number of students is restricted to 35 per group.
